Meet Your Tutor

Nicole Artese

Hello there!

I am a Connecticut certified Math teacher located in Fairfield County. I taught high school math in a public school for 6 years before transitioning to running my private tutoring business in order to have flexibility to raise my two sons.

Originally from Massachusetts, I graduated from Sacred Heart University with a BS in Math and a Master of Arts in Teaching. There, I met my now-husband, who is also a high school teacher (yay for summer vacations together!).

As I began my teaching career, I discovered the need many students had for extra support in their math classes. Within my first couple of years as a teacher, I was asked by friends and colleagues to privately tutor students in the area, and I quickly grew to love it!

I truly enjoy working with students one-on-one or in a small group setting and really being able to address the specific challenges they have with the content. Seeing students make progress and gain confidence in their math ability is by far the best benefit to being a tutor!

I like the challenge of figuring out a different way to explain a concept or determine which problem solving methods work best for each individual student. I have often found that working with students on this level has made me a better teacher in the classroom, and in that way I see myself as a continual learner too!

You can view the pages on this site for student resources, parent resources, and information about tutoring sessions. If you are interested in tutoring for your child or if you have any questions, please contact me. I look forward to hearing from you!
